The large canvas art in the world was created by Ando, an Australian artist with a unique set of skills.
It took Aberg 30 months and 100 tonnes of paint to finish and perfect the work.
Triptych Canvas Art

Mohka

Multi-panel canvas pictures are becoming increasingly more popular today, artists are designing more artwork over several pieces of canvas to create a more visually pleasing image. A piece of artwork spread over 2 panels known as diptychs or 3 panels triptych are visually more striking and help pull of a variety of effects, this gives the artist more room to work with.

Having looked at triptych art it becomes clear that it's not just a chain of prints. In fact they are one distinct painting that is spread out over seperate pieces, forming one image out of a variety of smaller canvases. This leaves you with a panel set that needs to be aligned carefully to retain the desired image.

It's important when printing multiple canvases to remember to print them on high quality wrap canvas and hung close together, with a customarily space of between 1 and 2 inches seperating each piece, this helps take advantage of the look of a triptych canvas. The good thing about a multi-panel canvas is that it can help add a new dimension to a relatively boring subject.

We at Mohka pride ourselves on the range of triptych canvas print that we offer. From the latest modern triptych art ro striking abstract triptych art we are sure to have what you're looking for. Our range is second to none and hope you enjoy your canvas.

The London Bridge experience gives people a chance to see the exceptional views from the bridge and to see the steam engines driving the mechanism for lifting the bridge when there is river traffic

The most recent landmark to be constructed in London is the London Eye. The eye is a giant Ferris wheel situated on the banks of the River Thames, it was errected in 1999 and at that time was the tallest Ferris Wheel in the world standing at 135 meters tall until it was surpassed in 2006 by the Star of Nanchang. It's currently the most popular tourist attraction in the United Kingdom and offers amazing views of London.

London has many more attractions such as the famous Big Ben, standing at 320 foot it takes it's name from it's historic bell, weighing in at over thirteen tons. To this day old-fashioned pennis perform as counterweights to make sure Big Ben stays accurate to the nearest second.

Matisse And His Amazing Colours

Mohka

Matisse discovered his passion for art in an unusual way, following an attack of appendicitis his mother brought him some art supplies and started painting. Matisse said "From the moment I held the box of colours in my hands, I knew this was my life." Matisse was widely known for creating artwork with amazingly striking colours such as red canvas, yellow and blue. He was a amoung a group of artists who foudned Fauvism which meant the artists works emphasized different brush strokes and strong colour.

One of Matisse's best known paintings was The Egyptian Curtain, it's a wonderful painting whose colour radiates sunshine. The Egyptian Curtain is said to be an accurate reflection of the way we look at things, it has been said that if you stand inside a room on a sunny day and stare through the window at something, your eyes become adjusted to the brightness of the sunlight. WHen you look back at something in the room, you are partially blinded while your eyes adjust to the change of light. Matisse used this theory whilst painting The Egyptian Curtain to increase the lumiance of his colour.

At Mohka we love Matisse's work and his use of amazing colour. We find it empowering and a great source of inspiration, espcially if the weathers dull. We offer a large range of red wall art that encompass the same striking and vibrant colours like Matisse. What ever size or image you choose, the team at Mohka will ensure that only the highest quality materials are used.

Contemporary Film Canvas Art

Mohka

A notable movie poster is a tricky thing to find. The majority of posters are cut and paste jobs that don't persuade somebody to buy the movie well the least bit. A great poster is meant to fascinate, surprise, engage & excite. It would ideally be visually attractive or innovative. Especially, it must be so memorable that with a solitary glance it will be immediately identifiable.

Ultimately, what was only a one-time-use reproduced canvas designed for movie promotion, started to be renowned as poster art. Almost immediately, creative film posters started to become amongst the most in-demand items of film merchandising, with unusual contemporary wall art frequently realizing vast sums at fine art auctions.

"In Space No-One Can Hear You Scream", "Where's the Beef?", "The Ultimate Driving Machine" These, plus a variety of similar publicity slogans have penetrated the public's psyche. The immediately familiar slogans are truisms of our generation. They conjure images of triumph and thoughts of comfort.

They're just the results of a multi-billion pound industry directed by a handful of massive international enterprises that invent multi-level marketing campaigns. They utilize these slogans in films and film posters to drive the general public to purchase products, services, and ideas, among other profit-making products. The sayings are engineered in order to educate us to become committed consumers, and they normally succeed.

Vintage Russian posters are the focus of art exhibitions around the world and professional enthusiasts will shell out hundreds of dollars for a hand-painted poster of well known movies. Though the posters are seen as art, not everyone agrees the painters are actual artists. Today if you are employing a hand-drawn poster the public will assume it is a cheap movie.

Of late those marquees are increasingly a fading art. Painters who specialize in making film posters are finding it more challenging to come across employment because movie producers have shown a preference for for polished computer designed canvas prints. A hand-painted contemporary canvas film advertisement costs between £100 and £200 and are typically displayed in a handful of cinemas before the elements fade them. A digitally-engineered poster printed on plastic costs as much as £500, however can travel to more than 20 theaters before it fades.

Should Turner Have Credited A Volcano?

Mohka

The British seascape artist Turner said his painting was not to be analyzed but "to show what such a view was like". The superb dramatic sunset canvas prints of Joseph Turner were more than just artistic license - they in fact captured the impact of volcanic eruptions that caused shifts in the Earth’s climate. Experts have looked at the dramatic sunsets produced by JMW turner and other masters to figure out the cooling impact of giant volcanic eruptions.

A committed team of scientists studied the paintings of old masters like JMW Turner and Rembradt to assess the quantity of actual pollution spewed into the sky. The geological archives of eruptions in Mount Tambora, Indonesia, in 1815, and Mount Krakatoa in 1883 among others had been inspected. The eruptions distributed a blanket of dirt and chemicals around the planet and sent overall temperatures tumbling, resulting in failing crops as well as numerous famines.

News reports from the time describe beautiful sunsets for some years afterwards, as the thinning brightness was spread by clouds of particles distributed high in to the atmosphere. By inspecting the application of color of sunset canvas art produced before and following these kinds of eruptions, the experts assert they have the capability to estimate the level of material in the air when they were painted.

The experts asserted that the redder landscapes noticed in canvas prints "can be tentatively attributed to the volcanic eruptions, as opposed to abnormalities in the color degradation attributable to age, or further indiscriminate elements affecting every artist’s colour depiction". The experts went over the ratio of red and other colours in the sky to assess the amount of particles in the air produced by each volcano. Their findings, the scientists claim, are remarkably alike to estimates taken from historical observations in addition to analysis of evidence found in ice cores. For this reason it may be said that we wouldn’t enjoy such an outstanding tradition of sunset canvas art in a world without volcanoes.

Can Car Design Be Called Art?

Mohka

Certain museums apparently suppose so; household furniture exhibits are growing in popularity. And auctions are asking old master prices for mid-century objects. Design is design, although it often is art, as well. Any object that can be experienced in the slightest degree, even car canvas prints might be recognized as artwork. Only now do we reach the key issue: is it worthy as art? Needless to say, not everything needs to be dramatic, as art - very often a car canvas is just a car canvas.

When art and design happen to be similar, such as in long-term branding, a visual designer makes something that a viewer notices but in all probability does not act on straight away. Perhaps they are exposed to a emblem quite a few times and are more liable to purchase or consider that brand while investing in the times ahead. However if they never act on that desire produced by the graphic designer the emblem doesn’t achieve it's goal and the design can be understood to have failed.

There is moreover the question of when art becomes design. So much of contemporary art has turned out to be fashion artwork: promoted by the desire for something novel, and the audience. Maybe the solution to if design is art might be found in the act of invention. Is the creator’s intention to craft an object that is artistic, that has visual worth? If yes, then it’s art, no matter whether people lie on it or display it on the wall.

And there is in addition the difficulty of 2 terms meaning the same thing. If we constantly claim that designers are artists, or incorporate design as art in all cases, what does that do to our vocabulary? Whilst it is cool to make bold statements along the lines of “less is more” it in truth only serves to water down our language of any definition we have left. In current society we've got a hard enough time deciding on the meaning of terminology and art to start with, let alone attempting to reinvisage them as something else.

Design, on the other hand, involves use. The designer requires someone to make use of, and not only be thankful for, what they build. Design does not serve its purpose devoid of people to use it. Design can help provide a solution to human issues. The highest accolade we can confer on a design is not that it is handsome, as we can in artwork, but that it is well-used. The defining factor regarding whether or not car canvas prints should be considered art is if people are shown it and say “I like that” as opposed to “that works effectively”.

Pop Art Canvas Art Explained

Mohka

Pop Art is one of the defining arts styles of the 20th century. The Pop artists turned to pop culture and marketing for subjects to produce representational imagery that defied the modernist hierarchy. Breaking with the 60’s modernist custom of abstract expressionism, pop art canvas prints appeared to some critics to be meaningless and reactionary. Still, they in fact signify a influential period in the history of twentieth-century painting.

In the early 1960's the straight world was starting to perceive the camp sensibility. Since camp was seen as the triumph of style over substance, as soon as the Pop painters lifted their hated media works to the field of "high art," they expressed the camp love of, and commitment to the kitsch.

Pop art canvas art diverged from more conventional concepts of academic painting in the course of the 1950s and Sixties, giving birth to vastly different ideas of artistic representation.

Pop artists accomplished swift financial success and almost immediately assumed canonical position in art history. Its familiarity with the camp sensibility have always furnished Pop art with a substantial gay audience. Pop art canvas art has duly had a major impact on following artwork and artists, opening the way for everything from photorealism in the Seventies to the ironic depiction of the ordinary that has dominated a good deal of contemporary art.

As a visual art scene pop art canvas prints in the mid Nineteen Fifties began absorbing modern art into the very highly developed marketing world. The people in The United States didn’t have a big jump to make into pop art canvas reproductions, the clear and dramatic works which emerged from the pop art period are ones which are able to even attain meaning these days.

As a means of producing Pop art, as a rule artists use mechanised methods of rendering tactics that downplay the representative hand of the artist. Being an art movement, it retains some exceptional representative qualities alternative fashions tend not to have, saving itself a exclusive spot in our visual vocabulary.

How To Compose Your Own Canvas Wall Art

Mohka

The primary concept to understand in choosing or painting canvas wall art is composition this means thinking about the forms in the region which houses your portrait. This is to guarantee that the subjects are aesthetically agreeable to one another and the full image, this is the center of decent composition. Any composition is centered on this theory of aligning forms to one another in a agreeable way no matter if they are squares, hexagons, verticals, or another shape.

There are lots of important points when making a piece of art. The number one is the painting section contained by the 4 borders of your surface that is used for the sketch or composition. The canvas area will enable you to clarify placement of things, and how big they should be. Secondly contrast, the illusion of distance or a third dimension - which makes figures feel nearer or further away. The end result doesn't seem flat on the paper or canvas if contrast is created. Thirdly set up a visual line from end to end the portrait - the shapes or forms within the picture would ideally guide the observer to the main point. When fine art is viewed, nearly all of us will start in the bottom left part, and keep on through the painting to the right. A fine composition will not let the observer to keep moving right, totally off the picture. The general public must be guided back to the focus of the artwork in a flowing movement. After everything else is the lightness, or darkness of an area, or a profile within the portrait. It is also employed to generate the over-all impression of the portrait.

Even when taking photos a photographer looks at appealing forms and you can only perceive remarkable subjects in your shots by relaxing and genuinely touching the figures that you are painting onto your paper or whatever other surface you are utilizing. Be certain that your shapes are aesthetically and harmoniously correlated to one another and to the total rectangular profile of your surface, and are agreeable to the viewer. Rough drawings are utilized to ensure composition is accurate, and that the drawing captures the attachment the artist is trying to impart. Examples ought to be kept straightforward, open to changes, and not have too much detail. After the painter feels they have brought into being the effect and mood they choose to produce for the viewer, the examples can subsequently be transferred to canvas as wall art.

Who Is The Mysterious Banksy?

Mohka

Most consider artwork as a method of communicating feelings, as opposed to vocabulary, the course by which we communicate ideas. It doesn't matter what line there is seperating imagery and language, Banksy paints over it to make it vanish, then craftily repaints it in the strangest of areas. His images, whether he places them in public, reveals them in galleries, or hides them in museums covertly, are crammed with imagery morphed into metaphors that traverse all language barriers. But who is Banksy? We don't know his real name, although his art is obviously the product of a passionate personality. His rejection of being interviewed in person or even to bring to light his real given name has enhanced his air of secrecy throughout the years. In the UK Banksy canvas lovers allege to know the painter's genuine identity on a regular basis and even though he's been caught on cctv occasionally, he is skillful enough to keep his identity a mystery.

It wasn’t until we began to discover the concealed world of ancient Romans that paintings irrevocably started to reveal the hidden features of human society. Almost immediately humorous, inappropriate, and totally lewd actions could be discovered on almost every wall in the enlightened world. As scientists uncovered the site of Pompeii, they were ecstatic to come across Roman wall art impeccably preserved below the ash. They soon started laughing as they roughly translated what they revealed to be such vulgar messages as “I screwed the barmaid,” and “Celadus makes the ladies moan!” Most impressive was the original and creative “Lucius painted this.”

Almost as contentious as his ways is the way in which Banksy canvas art takes on the painting world in general. He has been known to mock other painters for their self-importance and “lesser” art styles. He has even targeted the audience who but his art. After a famous public sale of a number of his paintings, he drew a picture of an auction on his official website using the sentence "I can't believe you idiots actually buy this sh*t." He is a active adversary of the structured art community, however he increasingly makes paintings that have become more conventional than his grafitti beginnings. By way of his talent as well as his dedication to design and his personal opinions, Banksy has turned out to be possibly the most recognizeable secret artist ever. The public still don’t know his real name or where he will appear next, while just uttering his assumed name achieves a look of recognition to the face of a person who knows something about art.

China's Legacy Of Landscape Wall Art

Mohka

Various critics judge landscape canvas art to be the best kind of Chinese art. They spell from the Five Dynasties age to the Northern Song time, this is generally known as the "Great era of Chinese landscape". In the north, artists such as Jing Hao and Fan Kuan painted images of mountains, using robust striking lines, ink wash, and sharp, dotted brush-strokes. In the south Dong Yuan and Juran painted the hills and waterways of their ethnic countryside in light artwork done by way of softer, rubbed painting techniques. These two kinds of images and techniques were to become the world famous styles of Chinese landscape painting.

The Ming empire sparked cultural rejuvenation as well as renewal along with the re-establishment of a native Chinese ruling family. Large landscapes of blossom and birds became the most acknowledged paintings of the new dynasty, this displayed grandness and benevolence. The Ming state was dominated by the Manchus, a group of nomadic people. They defined their own Qing dynasty which continued for 300 years. The Manchus immediately accepted the Chinese cultural conviction and the house started to be a principal investor in artwork.

Chinese landscape art is still widely brought. At Mohka we have a lot of landscape canvas art and you can notice the Chinese influences. A lot of people like the soft paintings of blossoms and birds, the team at Mohka feel they give off a warm homely feeling.
What Does Modern Art Mean?

Mohka

There is a well known artwork by the controversial British sculptor Tracey Emin. It was exhibited at the Tate Gallery in 1999 among the few shortlisted works for the Turner Prize. It took the form of her double bed together with bedroom items, and gained a large amount of media interest. Even if it did not win the prize, its unsavoury reputation has continued.

Tracey Emin engages the audience with her blunt exploration of universal emotions. Well known for her controversial work, Tracey Emin describes intimate snippets from her life to provoke the general public. Her ability to combine her art and private life enables Emin to share with the public her most private space, to show she’s as insecure and imperfect as the rest of humankind. This in essence is what modern canvas art ought to achieve - to reveal the artist's soul which, in turn allows the public the possibility to have compassion and to determine their own inner self.

The artwork generated significant press attention, predominantly over the detail that the bed clothes were marked by body fluids and the floor had objects from the artist's room. For instance condoms, a pair of her underwear and everyday bits and pieces including a pair of slippers. The bed was exhibited as it was, when Emin hadn't moved from it for some days due to serious depression, caused by relationship issues.

At Mohka we really like the controversial work of Tracy Emin and find her fascinating. It's great to see an artist so open and willing to be different. We have an amazing selection of modern wall art, with over 500 unique designs we hope to find something that you can appreciate and be inspired by, as we are by Tracey Emin.

Understanding Abstract Wall Art

Mohka

Abstract art is not to be understood straight away, you need to decide how the picture makes you feel and what you see in it. Most abstract art isn’t straight forward, most artists could draw a perfect Rose or portrait but they choose to distort it to change how people think and receive it. Sometimes abstract wall art can make people feel uneasy, as they don’t know how the image is meant to make them feel or what it’s portraying.

When trying to understand a painting and more specifically an abstract painting don’t try and judge it in ten seconds. Let it wash over you, like you would with a song as you listen to the lyrics and take them in. Give it time and try to look into the shapes, colours and lines to see if you can find a message personal to yourself. I think it’s important to recognise the colours as painting in deep reds would evoke a completely different feeling from one in soft curves of yellow and white.

At Mohka we have a huge range of abstract canvas art. We find some of the artwork so interesting such as the Mis-hap Multi and the Illusive Rainbow Trees, the colours and shapes they use just make your mind wonder. With such an extensive collection of abstract pictures you’re bound to find that perfect piece.

Mohka

A stretcher bar is used to put together a wooden stretcher frame used by artists to frame their canvas pictures. They're normally a wooden framework foundation which an artist fastens a piece of canvas to. A stretcher is basically a frame and can be constructed in a variety of ways. Most commercially available stretchers come in parts with interlocking corners like a puzzle, you simply fit them together and your stretcher bar is ready.

At Mohka we take pride in our work andmake sure we use the best quality wood possible for the stretcher boxes. We use the finest European kiln dried wood, by using this wood it stops the stretcher bars from warping, this is because the moisture has already been removed. This provides for the most stable and quality choice for stretcher bars and frames. It’s very rare to find any knots in our bars because the wood we use is carefully selected, knots are considered imperfections and are a sign of weak timber so we never use them. Our wood is sourced from sustainable suppliers who have strict environmental policies.

The team at Mohka work hard to make sure all stretcher bars are checked and of high quality before being put to use, this ensures your canvas picture will be fixed to a quality frame and perfect for hanging straight from the box.

Pablo Picasso has gone down as one of the most influential artists of the 20thcentury. Picasso was known for a wide variety of styles but most importantly for co-founding the Cubist movement. Picasso is regularly regarded as one of three artists who revolutionised the plastic arts and responsible for significant developments in painting, sculpture and printmaking. His revolutionary artistic accomplishments brought him universal renown and making him one of the best known figures of the 20th century.

At Mohka we appreciate what Picasso has done for the art world, more specifically his abstract art, which can be seen all over the world on abstract wall art. At Mohka we have a large range of abstract art which takes inspiration from many of Picasso’s abstract pieces. The purpose of cubism is to depict different viewpoints in a single image. Picasso’s desire was to represent an object as if being viewed from several angles or at different moments in time.

We take great pride in offering an extensive range of abstract canvas art. From fiery red abstract canvas art including Red Horizon to cool, artistic prints like Abstract Twisted Glass, we have something for everyone.

The Influence Of Van Gogh on Floral Canvas Art

Mohka

The great Vincent Van Gogh was a post-impressionist painter; his work was well known but was not widely appreciated during his lifetime. Van Gogh is famous for his rough beauty, bold colour and most famously his floral canvas art such as his Sunflowers series.

Van Gogh previously worked as a teacher, then a preacher in a Belgium mining community before becoming an artist in 1880 at the age of 27. He moved around teaching himself to draw and paint whilst his brother Theo provided financial support. Eventually in 1886 Van Gogh joined his brother in Paris. Whilst there he met many great artists and due to the influence of impressionism Van Gogh’s style changed, he used brighter colours and was bolder. In 1888 Van Gogh moved to Arles, where he painted several versions of landscapes with flowers and flowers suchas Irises, roses and most notably Sunflowers. Whilst in Arles Van Gogh befriended Paul Gauguin, who was a leading French post-impressionist artist. After an argument with Gauguin, Van Gogh feeling deeply remorseful cut off part ofhis ear, these were the first signs of mental illness.

Mental illness deeply affected Van Gogh and his work. He spent a lot of time in and out of psychiatric hospitals. His works reflected this by having such bright and intense colours. In 1890 whilst suffering from depression, Van Gogh shot himself and died two days later. At Mohka we're inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s works, especially his floral canvas artwork, we love the bright and intense colours. We think Van Gogh died too young, he was such a talented artist and with more time could have gone on to produce even more amazing pieces of art. Although he was under-appreciated during his lifetime he will never be forgotten, he has left a legacy and is still an inspiration to many.

How To Maintain Your Canvas Prints

Mohka

Hang securely
Use two hooks on the wall, each set about a quarter of the way in from either side of the picture. Check that the cord, wire or other hanger you use is designed to support the weight of your wall art. Where safety is critical, in children's bedrooms, for example, ask your framer about security fittings and glazing.

Handle with care
When carrying and transporting canvas prints grasp the frame firmly on both sides. If you have to store pictures, make sure they are stacked vertically and the right way up. When stacking canvas prints, stand them 'face to face' so that the hangers do not damage the frames.

Out of the light
Try not to hang canvas prints directly opposite large windows as sunlight fades colours and discolours paper. Special UV-coated glass can help to slow this down. The Fine Art Trade Guild has set industry-wide standards for printing and framing materials. Ask your framer about the ways in which you can preserve your canvas prints for the long-term.

Eye-level display
Remember most canvas prints are designed to be viewed at eye-level. When hanging a group of pictures of different sizes align the top edges. Groups of canvas prints need not be hung in symmetrical patterns, but they should follow some sort of overall design. Try arranging them on the floor first.

Avoid heat
Ideally canvas prints should not be hung above radiators. Extreme or rapid changes in temperature cause paper and wood to warp and dry out and adhesives to fail

Beware damp
Damp can cause canvas prints to ripple. If the ripples touch the glass, the picture might stick and be hard to remove. Damp also encourages fungal growth - likely to show as brown stains. Conservation framing can slow these effects, but it is always best to avoid hanging framed canvas prints in humid conditions. Allow six months before hanging pictures on newly plastered walls.

Canvas Art Prints History

Mohka

Canvas is typically stretched across a wooden frame called a stretcher, and may be coated with gesso before it is to be used; this is to prevent oil paint from coming into direct contact with the canvas fibers, which will eventually cause the canvas to decay. A traditional and flexible chalk gesso is composed of lead carbonate and linseed oil, applied over a rabbit skin glue ground; a variation using titanium white pigment and calcium carbonate is rather brittle and susceptible to cracking. Various alternative and more flexible canvas primers are commercially available, the most popular being a synthetic latex paint composed of titanium dioxide and calcium carbonate, bound with a thermo-plastic emulsion. Many artists have painted onto unprimed canvas

Canvas has become the most common support medium for oil paintings, replacing wooden panels. One of the earliest surviving canvas art prints is a French Madonna with angels from around 1410. However, panel painting remained more common until the 16th century in italy and the 17th century in Northern Europe. Venetian artists were among those leading the change; Venetian sail canvas was readily available and regarded as the best quality.

Early canvas was made of linen a sturdy brownish fabric of considerable strength. Linen is particularly suitable for the use of oil paint. In the early 20th century, cotton canvas, often referred to as "cotton duck", came into use. Linen is composed of higher quality material, and remains popular with many professional artists, Cotton duck, which stretches more fully and has an even, mechanical weave, offers a more economical alternative.

Gesso-ed canvases on stretchers are also available. These pre-stretched, pre-primed canvases are suitable for all but the most exacting professional standards. They are available in a variety of weights: light-weight is about 4 oz. or 5 oz.; medium-weight is about 7 oz. or 8 oz.; heavy-weight is about 10 oz. or 12 oz. They are prepared with two or three coats of gesso and are ready for use straight away. Artists desiring greater control of their painting surface may add a coat or two of their preferred gesso. Professional artists who wish to work on canvas may prepare their own canvas in the traditional manner.

With a properly prepared canvas, the painter will find that each subsequent layer of color glides on in a "buttery" manner, and that with the proper consistency of application (fat over lean technique), a painting entirely devoid of brushstrokes can be achieved. A warm iron is applied over over a piece of wet cotton to flatten the wrinkles.

Canvas can also be printed onto using specialist digital printers to create canvas prints. This process of digital inkjet printing is popularly referred to as Giclee. After printing, the canvas can be wrapped around a stretcher and displayed.
Giclee Canvas Art Prints

Modern large format printers are capable of printing onto canvas rolls measuring 60" or more. Modern examples of inkjet-based printers capable of printing directly onto canvas are the HP Designjet z6100 and the Epson Stylus Pro 9880. Printers such as these allow artists and photographers to print their works directly onto canvas media.

The popularity of canvas art prints has been aided by the general development of and increased accessibility to graphics technology, including printers and software. The benefits of the Giclée process over traditional methods to printmakers include lower set-up and maintenance costs. This, combined with the continued rise in computer use has allowed individual artists and photographers, as well as large printhouses, to create canvas art prints of their work to sell. Online galleries, in comparison to traditional retail outlets allow prints to be sold on an on-demand basis, as well as the means to offer customised canvas art prints.

Reproductions of original artwork have been printed on canvas for many decades. Since the 1990s, canvas art prints have been associated with either dye sublimination or inkjet print processes (often referred to as Reprograoh and giclee respectively).
We hope this has given you a useful insight into the history of canvas prints.
